In Shanghai’s fruit imports resumed for 80% compared to last year

Since March 1, the overall volume of fruit imported in Shanghai port reached 69.500 tons. Imported fruits are mostly made up of bananas from the Philippines, oranges from Egypt, coconuts from Thailand and grape from Peru and Chile’s nectarines and plums.

When compared with the same period last year, 75.900 tons fruits were imported. That means that import of fresh fruit has already resumed to more than 80%. In addition to a large number of imported fruits that achieve rapid release based on risk data analysis, fruits that require quarantine permits includes: New Zealand kiwi, Vietnamese pitaya and American fresh orange.
